version 0.017 9/14/2008
-----------------------
- Skipped 0.016 since it was just a test version.
- Dressing room bug fixed. (There actually wasn't a bug, it was just that
the pso_server.sql file had the wrong specs for security_data... anyway,
I've removed the reliance on dress_flag anyhow. Should be working fine
now...)
- Now pauses on any error when launching login_server.

New versions and smaller archive files!!

Login Server (SQL version) @ https://www.pioneer2.net/spsos_login_v.023.zip
Login Server (.DAT version) @ https://www.pioneer2.net/spsos_login_v.023_nosql.zip
Ship Server @ https://www.pioneer2.net/spsos_ship_v.061.zip

Login notes:

Quote:
version 0.23 9/15/2008
----------------------
- No longer need the Visual C DLLs or the manifest files for
each program inside of the same folder with the executables.
- Login_server now will pass the normal, global, and local GM
name colors to each ship on your gate.

The colors can be configured via tethealla.ini

See the example INI file for more details...

- Patch server will now give a warning if welcome.txt is missing or
there are no patches in the patches folder.
- Included dummy.txt files in the whole patches example folder as a
guideline on how it should be structured.
- Will only work with ship v0.061 or higher...

Ship notes

Quote:
version 0.061 9/16/2008
-----------------------
- Fixed mag stats when a rare drop.
- No longer reads name colors from ship.ini, the colors are passed
to the ship server from the login server.

You can delete this extra information out of your ship.ini as those
lines may be used later for something else...
- Only works with Login v.023

Enjoy.

Sorry, SQL version of Login 0.023 was useless.

Fixed now.

Quote:
version 0.024 9/15/2008
----------------------
- Fixed crash after ship register on SQL version only.
(Non-SQL version was not affected by this problem...)

- Corrected problem with attributes while tekking. (Now doesn't
jump through tiers and such...)
- Made it harder to get attribute to change while tekking.
- More common for weapons with no special to drop.
(Hopefully also corrected ??? weapons dropping with no special...)
- Now harder to get higher slot armors.

As soon as I finished .062, I went to test some shit with equipment dropping by upping the rate to near max and noticed how often Knight/Power dropped, lol.

Made me go rebalance the equipment drop function and fix the Knight/Power bug.

Anyways... here's what's up with .063

Quote:
version 0.063 9/16/2008
-----------------------
- Knight/Power no longer drops on all difficulty levels nor as often.
- Rebalanced the common equipment drop function.
Now, as far as what drops when an equipment roll happens,
chances are Weapons > Armor > Shields > Units ...

Big ship update...

Quote:
version 0.064 9/16/2008
-----------------------
- Loading most of the ItemPT file now. This file controls a great deal
of common drops based on section IDs. The following things from
ItemPT have been implemented in the server:

+ Weapon ratios
+ Weapon ranks
+ Weapon grind
+ Weapon percentage
+ Weapon element
+ Armor ranks (not implemented via ItemPT... yet)
+ Armor slots
+ Unit types
+ Various tool frequencies including techniques
+ Technique levels
+ Enemy drop rate
+ Enemy meseta
+ Enemy drop type
+ Box Meseta

What hasn't been implemented from the file (due to my lack of
understanding on it):

- Armor and shield ranks (both minimum and maximum)
- Anything else I didn't mention which this file may hold...

Although this corrects several things with items, I'm sure my
interpretation of it will need to be tweaked here and there.
(That's where YOU come in!)
- Now loading the object data for the default maps when playing
without having a quest loaded from the guild counter. (So fixed
box drops for normal games work...)
- The structure of ship.ini has changed. There are no longer individual
parameters for monster and box drops. There are now only 5 common settings
for "fully random" boxes which control weapons, armor, mags, tools, and
meseta drops.

When a "tool" drops, it uses the frequency table inside of the ItemPT
file to determine which individual tool to drop.

Please see the example ship.ini for details.

- Don't forget to copy the ItemPT.gsl file from the archive's param folder
into your own ship's param folder!

This update is unrelated to the new drop stuff.

Quote:
version 0.067 9/16/2008
-----------------------
- Finally fixed the Tekking bugs with the specials. No more ??? weapons
that don't get any attributes. Should stop weapons from detekking as well.

Swear that's the last update for tonight... hopefully for some time too.

Lol. I'm really sorry about 4 releases basically in a row.

Another release, fixes some problems.

Quote:
version 0.068 9/17/2008
-----------------------
- Due to some code optimizing I was doing, I broke fixed box drops in
quests. It has been corrected now.
- Fixed meseta drops from fixed boxes.
- Fixed unit drops from boxes and enemies.
- Adjustment made to enemy drops. Looks like tools are supposed to have
a random chance to be dropped from all enemies and it's not set in the
ItemPT's enemy drop data.

Owned...!

First things first, Vista?! (If so, make sure you're running the game in administrator mode...)

Second, is there a PsoBB.pat in your patches folder? If so, does your PsoBB.exe match it? If not, you have three solutions:

1. Make sure PsoBB.exe matches PsoBB.pat in both size and checksum.
2. Remove PsoBB.pat from the patches folder.
3. Rename the downloaded PsoBB.pat to PsoBB.exe

Those are the only reasons I could see for it to keep patching.

There could be another, like you have a virus which keeps modifying your files, but eh... sucks to be you, if so.

Small update. (I know, I probably piss everybody off but that's because I guess I should do more checking before I release, huh?)

The last version, 0.68, I really thought I was done with the fixed box drops but Lee noticed a small glitch when the fixed flags were set and the item drop value was all 0's. Nothing would drop when on GC it just generates a completely random item, so now I do that too.

Quote:
version 0.069 9/17/2008
----------------------
- Fully fixed boxes which have null data for the item to drop now
drop random items.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to add that ping thing I said I was going to add on Sylvanet's forum with the last release.

I just added it.

So, yeah, here ya go:

Login server v0.026

Quote:
version 0.026 9/17/2008
-----------------------
- Now sends pings to the connected ships, every 30 seconds, to ensure
they're alive. If a ship fails to respond within 30 seconds of a
ping, the ship is disconnected. (Let's be serious here, if a ship
can't respond within 30000ms of the login's server ping packet,
the ship shouldn't obviously be hosting on your gate.)
- Only works with ship v0.070 and higher.

https://www.pioneer2.net/spsos_login_v.026.zip (SQL)
https://www.pioneer2.net/spsos_login_v.026_nosql.zip (DAT)

Ship server v0.070

Quote:
version 0.070 9/17/2008
-----------------------
- Replies to ping requests sent by the logon server.
If the ship hasn't received a request from the logon server in over a minute,
the ship will terminate the connection with the logon server and attempt
to reconnect.
- Reconnect number of seconds has been reduced from 30 seconds to 15 seconds.

Update, this one requires more steps than usual:

Login v0.029

Quote:
version 0.029 9/18/2008
-----------------------
- Only works with ship v0.072 or higher.
- Old Tethealla client executables no longer can connect to this
login server. Users must update their executables for both
Vista and XP.

https://www.pioneer2.net/spsos_login_v.029.zip
https://www.pioneer2.net/spsos_login_v.029_nosql.zip

Ship v0.072

Quote:
version 0.072 9/18/2008
-----------------------
- Only works with ship v0.029 or higher.
- Old Tethealla client executables no longer can connect to this
ship server. Users must update their executables for both
Vista and XP.
- Fixed a bug, actually caused by data in the ItemPT file, which
sometimes caused enemies to drop 999,999 meseta.
- Techniques can no longer be used in town. (Telepipes still work,
though, but not for long...)

https://www.pioneer2.net/spsos_ship_v.072.zip

To connect to the login and ship, your clients will need updated Tethealla executables.

You can find the updated executables in this archive:

https://www.pioneer2.net/TethExes091908.zip

Included are EXEs for both Vista and XP. (Ones preconfigured to connect to my server as well as ones preconfigured to connect to localhost)
