This.
Un-comboing weapons cannot be done using the FIREWALL. |

Hosting own server is the easiest... But, in theory, you could do whatever you wanted on whatever server you could connect the proxy to if you modified the source to send your own custom item file to the client instead of the server's.
(That's too much work, though, and I don't feel like describing how to do that, so just host your own server and edit your PMT file with Lee's editor.) |

Instead of doing all that proxie stuff, couldn't you just modify the client yourself (since your sending this data to the client in the first place)?
Anyway, yeah use Lee's editor Kuroro if your just hosting a server. |

I don't believe that file exists in the client whatsoever. Just like the monster parameter file.
You can't even put the item and monster parameter files in the data folder to get them to work without the server sending them. |

Actually they are, but they're just there as left overs from the porting from Xbox.
As Soda said, editing these won't do you any good as the login server sends the following files when logging in. which take priority over the local file:
ItemMagEdit.prs
ItemPMT.prs
BattleParamEntry.dat
BattleParamEntry_on.dat
BattleParamEntry_lab.dat
BattleParamEntry_lab_on.dat
BattleParamEntry_ep4.dat
BattleParamEntry_ep4_on.dat
PlyLevelTbl.prs
(Taken from e8send.txt in login_server)
If you want unlocks, get the server and Lee's PMT editor and edit the file in bold above. |

But what I was trying to also convey is, even if you place a file in that folder and make a server NOT send the file out, the client won't read it from the data folder.
I tested this when developing the server software.
I purposely made the server not send the battle parameter files and put some in the data folder of the client.
The enemies basically spawned then went invisible. |

Ahh I see. I forget how heavily dependent BB is on a server compared to GC/X/DC. |

LOL. I was talking about actually editing the client when it was running. Not a file in the client. Though was interesting to read.
Are you talking about editing the enemies Soda? I tried editing (the enemies) that when the client was running and actually found where it was stored I think (well the data looked EXACTLY like the battle param's files). The client didn't give a damn when I edited it though only cares if it's sent during login I guess (waits for Lee to call me a noob). XD |

That's stupid, who cares about memory editing? Lol. Go to InfamousNugz.com for that stuff... we do things more practical around here! |

Well, it was just a suggestion. I think the proxy way is better obviously. And I don't really do memory editing. It's just a answer to this person's question. Just figured it an easier way to edit the stuff in the client than editing it when it wasn't running. Lee did create a "editor" for schthack (this is why I suggested it in the first place) that changes item looks and photons while the game is running. Pretty sure he coulda made it do combos or weapon animations, but that would sorta be cheating.
From what I've seen they only cheat pso with memory editing mostly. >>
(no offense IG) XD -offended- |

It's still a memory editor. |
