The prob was there already, just since it wasn't easy enough, nobody gave a fuck, (yet imo it wasn't that complicated..not that you need to know asm to do it).
And since nobody used it publicly, no one realised it was still pretty dangerous.
If i told you...you can get the encryption tables doing this. You would think...yes should find another way...but maybe later.
Now you have to fix it want it or not. |

It's really easy to defeat this, Larva.
You can just change the encryption table initialization procedure in both the server and the PSO client executable and it'd throw people off again. |

I'm not sure what problem you were trying to help me realize.
Obviously, I know how the PSO encryption works, where the tables are stored in both the executable and server. I know how easily it is to change and dump it. Really, let's not try to be cute, you weren't trying to educate anybody here. You were just trying to help people be able to fuck around easier on servers.
The only people the "wiser" here are the people who benefit from your program. Well, that is if they took any knowledge from it at all or just use it to connect their proxy to a running server.
EDIT: Oh, he meant PSO server admins. Well, STILL, it's not really a problem unless you make everybody be able to take advantage of it.
I mean, you could say guns firing bullets that kill people are a problem. Which they are. But you probably wouldn't make it as big of a "problem" unless you handed out loaded guns to everybody... Sort of the same thing here!
I really can't talk, though. I did write the first public BB proxy, after all.  But I didn't try to act all like I was doing anybody a favor 'cuz of it!!

I don't try to be cute coz I'm CUTE and of course i wanted to help people to be able to fuck around servers but that wasn't the only reason...i'm to lazy to do it only for that

Servers had an old half blind and deaf guy selling the guns, i just provided you an id card to simplify, the lying to that guy (which was pretty easy). Of course i did it for the drama (well helping the guys, fucking larva, pointing that was bad helped me too) to get that old man fired from his job. Did you forget the only 2 things that keep me around here are messing with the server and Pso drama? |

It's just hella funny that Piro thinks he accomplished something. He keeps bragging like "It was pretty easy". Well, duh? The PSO encryption procedure has been documented for years. And the server source code is public, which included the modified encryption values. =P Of course it's not going to take a genius to do a simple search of the executable and dump it.
Anybody with half a brain would know a server's encryption couldn't really be secure with all of it's workings exposed at the source code level. So yeah, I don't think anybody is impressed, so bragging that it was easy, no problem, and so on and so forth doesn't do much. Haha.
Go crack PSU encryption or something, be useful! |
